Got a CGWA notice? What to do now

Notice, EC demand, penalty, or a query on your report: what it means and what to do first.

A notice has a deadline. The sooner a hydrogeologist sees it, the more options you have. Send it to us and get a free first review within one working day.

What kind of notice is it?

Notice for pumping without a NOC (environmental compensation)

What it means
CGWA or the district thinks you drew groundwater without a valid NOC. EC is worked out on your daily use, the block category and how long you pumped. It can run into lakhs.
Do this first
Do not ignore it. Note the reply deadline. Collect any NOC, past applications, meter readings and bills.
How we help
We check the EC calculation, prepare the technical reply, and file a NOC application if you have none.

NOC has expired, or renewal is late

What it means
If you apply more than three months after expiry, EC is charged for the whole gap.
Do this first
Apply for renewal at once, with the compliance report.
How we help
We compile the compliance report from your meter, water level and quality data, and file the renewal.

Penalty for not meeting NOC conditions

What it means
Something the NOC asked for is missing: meter, observation well, data, recharge, or the self-compliance report. Each carries a fixed fine.
Do this first
Fix the gap first, then reply with proof.
How we help
We tell you exactly what is missing, help put it right, and prepare the proof and reply.

Query from CGWA or the expert appraisal committee on your report or model

What it means
The reviewers are not satisfied with the study. Your NOC or EC is on hold until you answer.
Do this first
Answer point by point, within the time given.
How we help
We review or rebuild the model, and draft the point-by-point reply. We do this often for mines.

Sealing of borewell or disconnection of power

What it means
The District Magistrate can seal wells and cut power for pumping without a NOC.
Do this first
Contact the district office with any NOC or application proof. Involve your lawyer for legal steps.
How we help
We prepare the technical documents and a fast-track NOC application.
