Leaking effluent lagoons, landfills, fuel storage, ash ponds and old industrial land can pollute an aquifer for decades. We find the source, map the plume, predict where it will go, and design a clean-up or containment plan that the pollution control board and the courts can accept. Results are judged against the BIS IS 10500 drinking-water limits and the conditions in your consent or NOC.
What you get
- Baseline and suspected-contamination water quality surveys
- Source, pathway and receptor assessment
- Plume mapping with monitoring wells and ERT resistivity imaging
- Contaminant transport models (MODFLOW with MT3DMS) to predict spread
- Remediation options: pump-and-treat, hydraulic containment, barriers and monitored natural attenuation
- Monitoring network and closure criteria
Who it is for
Industries with effluent or solid-waste handling, landfills and waste processing sites, ash ponds, fuel and chemical storage, mines with acid or saline drainage, and buyers or lenders doing due diligence on industrial land.
Common questions
Can you tell whether pollution came from our site or from elsewhere?
Often, yes. Water chemistry, upgradient and downgradient wells, groundwater flow direction and, where useful, isotopes show which source fits the data.
Do we always need pump-and-treat?
No. Where the plume is stable and receptors are far away, containment or monitored natural attenuation with a clear monitoring plan can be enough.
