Groundwater NOC for pharma, chemical and fertiliser plants

Your plant is on CGWA's list of industries that can pollute groundwater. Extra rules apply.

Pharma, chemical, pesticide, paint and fertiliser units get the normal NOC conditions plus a few more, because a leak or effluent here can spoil an aquifer for years.

What CGWA will look at in your plant

🛢️Store rainwater, don't recharge itPolluting industries must collect roof rainwater in surface tanks and use it, instead of putting it into the ground.
🚫No effluent into the groundInjecting treated or untreated wastewater into the aquifer is banned. Fine: Rs 10 lakh plus the cost of cleaning the aquifer.
🧪Water quality every yearApril–May samples tested at an NABL lab for heavy metals and organic compounds, not just basic ions.
🛡️Well-head protectionProtect each borewell head so spills cannot run down the well casing.
📊Report and modelAbove 1 lakh litres a day in stressed blocks, an Impact Assessment Report with a 5 km model.

How we take you through it

Step 1Check

Block category, quantity, existing wells and any old contamination.

→
Step 2Study

Water quality baseline, field survey and the model.

→
Step 3File

Impact Assessment Report with the protection measures.

→
Step 4Comply

Yearly quality testing, logbook and self-compliance report.
